A little Pompeii in the historic heart of Rimini



After two thousand years can be seen in the historical center of Rimini on the archaeological complex called the 'The Surgeon'. A little Pompeii in the heart of the city that has gained international fame for its unique materials found in the world.

Just in this environment has been discovered an exceptional surgical and pharmaceutical, the richest ever come from antiquity, now on display in the adjacent Museum of the City. And then the Byzantine palace from large rooms with colorful mosaics and the remains of dwellings and tombs of the Middle Ages, up to the signs of the modern age.

Destroyed by fire in the mid-third century, the domus has revealed, among the rubble of the collapse structures, mosaics, plaster, furniture and furnishings that provide a "snapshot" of life in the great ancient Rimini.

The Domus was launched December 7, 2007 and can be visited during opening hours of the Museum with a single combined entry ticket.
